Kalakand with a tinge of mango

thumbnail for this post

Thinking for making something special for festival or your anniversary tonight.. See i read your mind and here I am with instant kalakand in mango flavor. Quite contrary to its name this recipe takes just 1/2 hour to go.

INGREDIENTS:
1. 1 cup fresh home- made paneer
home-made cottage cheese(paneer).
2. 1 cup fresh home-made khoya/mawa
3. 1 cup mango pulp.
4. 2 tsp mango essence.
5. 1 cup sugar.
6. Halved Almonds(badams)

Method:
1. Take a heavy base wok or pan. Put in the all the ingredients except sugar and mix well.(I did not had the mango pulp so used just mango essence and Saffron strands in it).
2. Turn on the stove on medium heat. Let it cook for 2-3 mins.
3. Since the ingredients are dry it will be ready soon .As soon as it starts forming a dough add sugar according to your taste and continue stirring the mix.
4. In next 2 mins you will get the dough like consistency.
5. Switch off the heat and transfer the contents on to a greased plate or cookie sheet or any flat base .
6. Set the barfi or kalakand and plane the texture using a spatula or a flat spoon.
7. After about half an hour cut the pieces and place split almonds for garnishing.

  1. After about another half an hour your kalakand is ready to serve and eat. You may keep it in the refrigerator and enjoy for 4-5 days.
