Falafel Burger
> > Yes , now-a-days we get mix for everything ,so why not use them ,save our time, and preserve our health too.Although this is a middle-eastern dish, but because of globalization this has got rapidly famous everywhere including India. So quite sure of the Indian taste ,this dish is loved by everyone alike whether non-vegetarian or vegetarian. ALthough falafel is usually served in pita pockets/breads, I am sure you would enjoy this version too.TGIF!! Again my version is eggless, timeless and effortless. You will need a falafel mix, cooking oil, buns or pavs and then you are ready to go.
Ingredients:
1. Falafel mix
2. water (as indicated on the pack)
3. buns -3to 4
4. tomato ketchup -1 tbsp
5. green chutney – 1 tbsp
6. cooking oil -1 Cup
7. sliced tomatoes,cucumbers,onions,peppers etc.
Method:
1. Take a bowl and mix the Falafel dry mix with water to form a batter .You may add chopped cilantro in this,if you like.
Heat some oil in a wok or pan.
When the oil is sufficiently hot ,set it on medium ,and then drop the falafel balls slowly in it.
Fry them till they are golden brown in color from all sides. In between you may need to turn them to avoid burning or to cook them evenly.
Once cooked ,strain and line them on a paper towel plate.
Now assemble the burger, for this on the bottom layer of top bun apply some chutney or dressing of your choice.
On the top layer of the bottom bun, apply ketchup. In between the 2 layers place the falafel fritter and below and above some sliced raw veggies of your choice.
Attach a toothpick in the center of the bun,and your burger is ready.
